Before the first visit: questions for clearer care

An organisational checklist for discussing care with your family and provider. It is not treatment guidance or a substitute for professional assessment.

Start with the need, not a package

Write down what help is needed: prescribed nursing tasks, companionship and daily support, or clinician-requested equipment. If unsure, ask for an assessment instead of guessing.

Agree the practical details

Ask about the provider’s identity, visit scope, duration and who supplies materials. Agree a contact method and a family contact for coordination without sharing unnecessary information.

Before confirming a date

Request clear availability, cost and change or cancellation terms. Keep the written agreement. A date chosen in an enquiry form remains a preference until explicitly confirmed.
